The SiiMiiGo Story
SiiMiiGo started as an artist-led project to photograph, categorize, and exhibit aesthetically appealing sidewalk cracks in Houston, Texas. (No joke. Houston is built on a swamp and hosts some absolutely magnificent sidewalk damage.) Artists collaborated to document and transform these images of decimated concrete into works of art. The images themselves were varied. They sometimes looked like ancient maps, at other times like elegant line drawings.
Together, artists participating in the project found beauty in damage, and intrigue in the interaction between the strength and rigidness of man-made material and the power of nature. In 2018, The Gallery of Cracked Pavement was born and hosted an online exhibition and self-guided walking tour that was met with overwhelming praise.
Since then, SiiMiiGo has evolved, but continued a mission to look at the everyday world in new ways, to present the magical in the mundane, and to transform space with the emotive and thought-provoking power of art.
SiiMiiGo now focuses on abstract art to enhance living and work spaces. This work is often reminiscent of landscapes (industrial, architectural, and natural).
Art for homes, dorms, offices, businesses, waiting rooms, hotel rooms, lobbies, short and long term rentals.
Thinking about adding art to your work or personal space?
Great idea! Here's why:
Art is like the cherry on top of your sundae! It's that extra little something that can take your home or office from bland to grand. At the very least, art covers up boring walls (or that wine stain you don’t remember being at fault for). Let's face it, plain white walls are about as exciting as watching paint dry (which is ironic, because that's pretty much what they are). But adding some colorful, interesting art to your walls can give them some much-needed pizzazz.
And pizzazz is a conversation starter. Have you ever been in an awkward social situation where you didn't know what to say? Well, fear not - if you have art on display, people will naturally want to talk about it.
SiiMiiGo isn’t promising that our art will help you to make a new friend or end those awkward moments with your mother-in-law, but it might just do exactly that.
Also, if video conference calls have taught us anything, it’s that backgrounds matter. Art makes you look sophisticated. Even if you're really a goofball at heart, having some cool art hanging in your space can make you look like a cultured intellectual who spends most of your time in deep thought about philosophical issues.
But seriously. Art makes us happy. Or it makes us think. Or it brings us peace. Art immediately and actively changes the mood of a space and affects the emotions of people in that space. It can help us to relax, work, have fun, socialize, and be ourselves.
Art can improve your space, and your life.
How to Choose Art For Your Space
The best way to choose art is to start with what you love. Go with your gut and choose pieces that speak to you.
Once you have your choices limited to what you love, consider the space where the art will be displayed. Find artwork that will complement the colors and style of your furniture and décor, as well as the size of the wall or area you want to fill. Don't be afraid to mix and match different styles and mediums of art. A gallery wall with a mix of prints can create a fun and eclectic vibe. Choosing art should be a fun and enjoyable process. Don't take it too seriously - if a piece makes you smile or brings you joy, that's reason enough to hang it on your wall.
Think about how you would like art to improve your space:
Art as Enhancement
Adds color and visual interest: Artwork can add color and visual interest to a room. It can complement the existing decor or create a contrast to add visual depth to the space.
Art as a Focal Point
Artwork can serve as a focal point in a room, drawing the eye and creating a visual anchor for the space.
Art to Reflect and Represent a Personal or Business Style
Artwork can be a reflection of personal style and can add character and personality to a space. It can be used to express individuality and create a unique atmosphere.
Art to Affect Mood
Artwork has the power to evoke emotions and can enhance the mood of a space. A bright, colorful painting can add energy and vibrancy, while a soothing landscape can create a sense of calm and relaxation
Why Abstract Art?
SiiMiiGo primarily focuses on abstract work sometimes reminiscent of landscapes. Abstract art can be a great addition to a home or office space for several reasons:
1. Abstract art often features bold colors, unusual shapes, and interesting textures that can draw the eye and create a dynamic focal point in a room.
2. Abstract art can be a great addition to modern or contemporary decor. It can complement clean lines, minimalism, and a neutral color palette, adding a pop of color and energy to the space.
3. Abstract art often allows for a range of interpretations and can spark creativity and imagination in viewers without being overwhelming, distracting or offensive. This can be a great way to inspire employees in an office or guests in a home.
4. Abstract art can make a bold statement and express individuality and personality. It can add a unique touch to a space and serve as a conversation starter.
5. Abstract art can work in a variety of spaces and styles. It can be paired with traditional or eclectic decor and can work in both residential and commercial spaces.
What is Digital Art?
Simply put, digital art is the representation of any artwork saved as a digital file,
You may be new to digital download purchases, or maybe you have avoided purchasing digital files in the past because you’re not sure how it works or what you’ll do once you purchase one. (Or maybe you purchase digital files for everything from decorating your home with wall art, to creating your own greeting cards, DIY party decorations, and invitations, and fun embellishments on work documents.)
When you purchase a digital download, you are not purchasing a physical product. What you are purchasing is a file (using a high resolution .jpg). Once you’ve made the purchase, you can use the file in any way you choose and print it as many times as you like!
